School camp - Ipswich Girls Grammar

70 students - 3 boats over 2 sessions

Saturday 24th February

This is timed to be straight after training so the boats will already be on the water and you should already be there.  I would really like those that can't help through mid week sessions, to take up the work load for this one.  If someone could take really good videos and photos that we could use to put together some promotional material, that would be excellent.  A drone taking videos would be fantastic if anyone can manage it.

I have also invited Angela Perry from Ipswich Dragon Boat Club to attend and she has accepted.  She might even make our club training.  These are boarding students and quite often they are looking to do things of a weekend so Angela could be a local point of contact for them to do dragon boating.

For those that haven't helped out with a school camp before, you are mainly required to stroke the boat as well as help out with simple tasks before and after the sessions.  Three sweeps are required but I will chase them individually.  If you want to have a go at coaching a boat, we can give you a simple list of instructions and a script to follow.  All you really need is a bit of authority in your voice.  Just let me know well before the day and I will send you the instructions so you can be prepared.

PS - You will be invited in for morning tea afterwards. An excellent opportunity to mingle with students and especially teachers.
