Please RSVP to indicate if you would be able to help out Cooroy Rotary in running their first dragon boat festival. We will need lots of people to volunteer for marshaling, boat handling, time keepers, admin, fill in paddlers plus sweeps for corporate teams.

If we get enough people interested, we might be able to also enter a few crews.

Date: Sunday 6th May, 2018
Location: Lake MacDonald Botanical Gardens, Cooroy
Site facilities: Food stall, coffee, raffles, other stands on site
Registration: Open 7.00am (Full participants list and Crew lists via Revolutionise Sport please). Changes to crew lists can be made up until the time of printing. Clubs are to print their own crew lists and bring them to the regatta and hand in at registration. No crew lists will be printed by the event organizers.
Beginning: Sweeps briefing 7.45am / First race starts 8:00am
Race distances: 200metres (20’s and 10’s) – double rostering allowed
Categories: Women, Mixed, Open, (no age limitations) & Juniors
A minimum of three entries is required to run each category
Fees: $15 per paddler & $5 per Junior paddler. Non DBQ registered paddlers are welcome
Rules of Racing: Mixed racing will be no greater than 5 (10’s) /10 (20’s) male paddlers in the boat
Standard AusDBF rules of Racing and at the discretion of the Event Organisers
Minimum numbers: 20’s racing a minimum of 18 paddlers
10’s racing a minimum of 8 paddlers
Combined Teams: Clubs who are unable to fill a boat with paddlers in a category will be permitted to combine with another club and race as a crew
without being disqualified.
Sweeps: Must be DBQ accredited or provisional. The event organisers will help to provide sweeps if requested prior to the day
Safety: All paddlers must be able to swim 50 metres or wear a life jacket which is to be supplied by your own club
Clean-up: All clubs are required to take responsibility for the cleanliness of the area they occupy and ensure they clean up their area at the end of the day. Rubbish bins will be provided on the grounds
Closing date: Sunday 28th April 2018 via Revolutionise Sport
