ANNUAL 33RD KIDS IN NEED DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL

Our 33rd Dragon Boat Festival is here harness your team spirit and dress to impress
The dragons are gathering again to raise funds for seriously ill children and children with disabilities. We would love you to make up a team and participate in a great day of Dragon Boat Racing at Jack Evans Boat Harbour (behind Twin Towns – crn Wharf & Boundary Streets). There are trophies for various categories, plenty of food & drink (no alcohol), shady trees and cool water. It is a very enjoyable family day with every cent being donated back to KIN.
TENTS: Can be set up on Saturday 27 October as KIN provides security overnight. Please do not erect a tent or marquee without prior approval.
PROGRAMS: Programs will be available at registration table.
REGISTRATION: 6.00am -7.00am (Qld time) at registration table, located in KIN marquee.
TEAM MANAGERS & SWEEPS BRIEFING: 7.00 (Qld time) at registration table, located in KIN marquee.
FACILITIES: A BBQ breakfast, lunch and coffee, at a reasonable cost will be supplied by South Tweed Rotary Club. All profits from the day are donated to KIN. Toilets can be found on the Twin Towns side of the harbour.
SWEEPS: Must be DBQ accredited or provisional.
SAFETY: All paddlers must be able to swim 50 metres unassisted or wear a life vest. All paddlers under 12 years of age are required to wear a life vest regardless of swimming ability, life vests provided by event coordinators.
FIRST AID: St John's Ambulance Service will be in attendance for the entirety of the event.
WHAT TO BRING:
- ID race tag,
- MSS race uniform / cap
- Paddle / bum pad
- Sunscreen
- Dry clothes
- Wet weather gear
- Chair
- Snacks/water etc
- Costume ... theme: "WHERE'S WALLY"
PLEASE NOTE: Daylight saving time is operational in NSW hence the 6am registration.
